Dan was born in 1971 in Jerusalem, Israel. He started his studies at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and then moved to the Netherlands to continue his studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam where he graduated in 2002 with a BA in Industrial and Product Design. After his graduation he worked as a freelance designer with various design and architecture companies in the Netherlands for a year, until he set up his own design studio and platform Jellylab in Amsterdam. In 2005 he moved his studio to Paris where he is currently based.

Dan likes to describe himself as an explorer and adventurer and regards definitions as being limitations. His work is diverse and spans a variety of design projects from space, furniture and light to concepts and product development. His laser sintered designs Hidden and the limited edition pendant light Detail were produced in collaboration with MGX by Materialise.
