Søren Nissen and Ebbe Gehl are fully qualified cabinetmakers. Both completed their training as joiners in Rud Rasmussen's Snedkerier and then studied furniture architecture at the Copenhagen School of Decorative Art. After graduating, they worked for some years at different design studios, such as Svend Ellekaer's studio and Nana Ditzel's studio, and taught at design schools both in Denmark and abroad.

In 1970 Søren and Ebbe entered into a partnership as Furniture Designers. A partnership which has been very productive and creative ever since. Wood products of beautiful workmanship, which only the best cabinet makers and furniture factories have been able to make, characterise their designs. They have throughout the years received several medals, awards, grants and honours for their work and they have had special exhibitions of their designs in Europe, Japan and the USA.
Their best known design is probably the Naver Collection which consists of an extensive range of sideboards, cabinets, coffee tables, chests of drawers and tables. In this sleek, contemporary and highly aesthetic furniture series, the designers have created their own style and seriously reinvigorated Danish design.
