Designer/maker Timea Sido graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in the summer of 2001 with a BA Honours Degree in Art and Design, specialising in the Artefacts pathway. She was awarded a Seedbed Award in March 2002, which enabled her to set up a studio at Cockpit Arts in London and to pursue her passion for designing and making ceramics, exploring the delicate use of slip trailing.
Natural forms and colours inspire Timea's work. The resulting artefacts she creates add calmness, purity and infinite delicacy to any interior. They do not need a real function; their elegance and aesthetic qualities are enough to totally captivate the viewer. One day she watched a spider’s web and, like many of us before, was mesmerized by its perfectly structured and delicate lines. Until a leaf flew in and caused the symmetry to collapse into a wonderful mess of random lines criss-crossing and interweaving into another. At that moment her Tangled Web Collection was born, created with Timea's sensitive use of slip trailing.
Have a look at her highly unusual and infinitely delicate designs; like us you’ll be caught in fascination.
