Swedish-born Ulrika Jarl is a Brighton based designer and maker specialising in the design and creation of handcrafted lighting and homewares. Her lighting products are made using bone china and various plastics chosen for their translucent qualities.
Influences come largely from patterns and structures of nature, rhythm and repetition of related shapes. Her detailed work captures nature's perfect structural elements and infinite richness of form. It is as functional as it is artistic and as visual as it is tactile; have a look at her Cel light and you will see Ulrika's extraordinary design and creative talent.
Ulrika studied Three Dimensional Crafts (Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics) at the University of Brighton and graduated in 2004 (BA Hons).
