The Absolut light looks fragile and stripped of any decorations, but several interesting and highly sophisticated features hide behind the beautiful simplicity and restrained elegance of its design.
The hinged carbon-fibre arm is connected to the base by means of an articulated joint and pivots flexibly in all directions. A built-in electronic sensor dimmer lets you switch the light on and off by simply touching the arm, or dim the light by holding the arm for slightly longer. The bulb unit, which houses a stainless steel reflector, has been fixed to the arm using an ingeniously simple and unobtrusive method and turns freely in any desired direction.
