ALUMEGA LED Pendant Light by NINA JEROCH

The beautiful Alumega pendant light displays an unconventional use of LED technology.
Circuit boards, at the heart of this technology but usually kept in the background, become the illuminant and decorative element at the same time, creating patterns which are reminiscent of the outlines of chinese temples and of labyrinths. The two-dimensional, decoratively penetrated circuit boards are pieced together to make three- dimensional bodies; high-tech lamp shades which radiate light inwards whilst impressing outwardly with their graphic pattern.
Alumega's pendant design comes in two versions: as a single horizontal circuit board and as a 4-board square light shade - all suspended using ultra thin steel cable. The 4-board light uses LEDs on two of the boards only.

Alumega is not only a formal reinterpretation of an LED lamp, it also convinces brilliantly with its use of a new generation of light sources that are at last able to give off warm light, solving the previous problem of the cold, harsh light given off by LEDs.
