This amazing table is entirely and lovingly handmade from discarded industrial components. Like few other pieces, it shows an extraordinary design talent and great dedication to creating something utterly unique, strongly industrial but nevertheless highly aesthetic . 
Taly's table top is built from large slices of aluminium extrusions which are welded together, forming a frame in which the thinner profile slices are bonded together in various translucent layers of resin. Once the epoxy has hardened, the top of the table surface is sanded and polished. The surface is left unlacquered to retain the tactile differences between the materials used. This means that the unprotected aluminium will turn white over the years but it can easily be polished to bring back its lustre. 
No two Talies are the same; the overall dimensions are always consistent but each table's top surface design depends on which profiles are available at the time - which is also the reason why it takes such a long time for each piece to be produced. It's like a really intricate, complicated puzzle - for which Willeke always needs to find the next piece.
