The bait-ball phenomenon, where a mass of fish act as one to protect themselves against predators, has been brilliantly captured in Dominic and Frances Bromley`s development of `Shoal`, a bone china chandelier and pure sculptural work of art.
For the Shoal Chandelier, the simple form of the fish is duplicated in a swarm of finely cast stylized fish circling, spiraling as one around a central light beam. Each fish is originated from a delicate sculpted work in clay and reproduced in fine bone china in the Potteries in North Staffordshire, central England. The natural translucency of the bone china body allows each fish to radiate with the hue of the light it circles.

The Shoal pendant light and chandelier, available in several cluster compositions, is made up of a number of bone china fish, strung by hand around a central beam of light and suspended from a chromed steel circular frame. Each fitting includes the readily strung formation of fish, a bone china ceiling rose, steel line suspension system and central light. The distance from the ceiling is fully adjustable up to 1.2m.
Each Shoal is packaged for delivery as a complete piece, ready to hang. A full installation service is available for bespoke sizes on request.

Glass Shoals are created in made to measure sizes and feature ice-like clear kiln formed glass fish circling the central light to create an alternative deep sea illusion. Alternatively, Shoal is available as a made to measure wall screen or panel.
